I'm a 5th generation witch with roots in Roanoke, so I know my potions. It's very hard to find a good preschool enrichment for witch children so this was a lucky find. Potions is an art form, so it's best to start teaching your little ones as early as possible. Just kidding, I'm a regular mom whose kids probably watch too many slime and craft videos on YouTube. It looked promising for my kids who love crafts and science. At first my 5 and 9 year olds enjoyed the craft. There are multiple glitters, bottles, add-ons, and guides. If you're suspicious of Halloween potions, don't. These potions are cute and quirky and have a little magical π§ββοΈ story attached to them. No spells or spells. My nine-year-old daughter could read recipes and brew her own potions. My five year old just mixed everything together and made his own mess, I mean mixπ. Directions are easy. Mix glitter, add gems/wings/unicorn hair/unicorn horn, pour into funnel bottle, add water and close lid. The potions are made for 4 large glasses, in cute little glasses just glitter and water. Sounds easy enough, but there are some downsides. First, unicorn hair π¦ is a plastic snake that's almost impossible to fit in a jar. Second, the fairy wings are actually butterflies π¦ (my daughters didn't miss this detail) and they need to be rolled up to fit in the jar. Third, gems are just little pearls. These add-ons were pretty boring and required more imagination and patience than my kids had. Both girls liked the three unicorn horns, it would be great to have more accessories like this. The glitters are all different and cute. Easy to pour. The hopper and mixing equipment were the right size. My girls made all their potions, turned some into necklaces and let their imaginations run wild for an hour. A cute potion storage display is included. I glued on cork stoppers to prevent spills. My kids really enjoyed this craft and it was cute. I can see this craft can be a great cleansing effort when used with young children, physical dexterity is a must. I think this is a great find and would make a fun gift; However, the price tag of twenty dollars is a bit high for what you get. I can walk into a craft store and get a lot more for the same amount without a potions book and adorable packaging.
