This great company willingly changed my order to a more powerful 1/3HP kit + leak detector + pressure gauge. This device requires you to have a reasonable understanding of what you are doing. Vacuum equipment is fundamentally different from working with pressure equipment like an air compressor. I bought this to install a 2 ton split air conditioner and skimmed some misleading information on youtube and elsewhere. So don't think that buying it will solve all your home improvement problems. At the very least, you'll need a device called a valve spool puller. I bought an air conditioning kit that had two gauges, but it's really meant to record pressure when repairing or testing a running system, not vacuum when first installed. The correct "micron gauge" to record under 1cm of mercury is typically 0.5cm and costs a lot more than this device itself! - My unit of measurement is imprecise for this. Not essential - but you will. Bad idea of 'hold' and proper evacuation other than just leaving it on 'for a while' :) DO NOT DAMAGE THE VACUUM PUMP - this is great and very cheap - but some learning and understanding is required before you pay for something - or something similar, so that he becomes the white elephant and disappointment in your garage.!
