. The beauty it offers for the backdrop of your aquarium. I've always liked the bubble effect on the back of the tank. The downside is that it's so big that it takes several minutes for the pump to push through enough air to get all the bubbles out. I suppose another downside would be that if your tank isn't full enough the bubbles will make a lot of noise so make sure you fill it fairly close to the top and that will make for the intense bubble noise. The other downside is that it's so big that if it curves in the middle at all, the air won't get to the other side, leading me to believe that the air it pushes through will wear out the air diffuser over time will raise. I covered it with gravel about a half inch as close to the bottom as possible and over time the air pushed the gravel away from it and started moving up. So I have to readjust every water change and overtime is a bit annoying. Also note that when I first got this I soaked it for about 8 hours and then turned on the air pump, it was NOT pumping air into it. Even after 5 min. So I took it out and poked holes in it about every half inch and after that it worked great! And now the bubbles are perfectly positioned and looking amazing. So overall I would recommend this but a word of caution it will add to your weekly tank maintenance.
