This is a great epilator for beginners. I've been using epilators for a number of years and I use a shaver about every six months. This one works better than the one I started with. It removes more hair and hardly burns the skin in textured areas like underarms and bikini line - yes, I use the epilator everywhere. After all these years I still can't get 4 weeks without hair anywhere, but the hair is much lighter, finer and softer with no coarse stubble. It actually works better on my armpits and bikini area as it takes time for my hair to come back. The bikini area seems to be the most responsive and I get about a week or two without noticing any/severe regrowth. I still have to do my legs at least twice a week to keep up. The battery life of this battery lasts longer than any battery I've tried. The Epil-7 has been my primary device at the moment, and while it has more tweezers to cover more area at once, the Epil-5 lasts much longer on one charge and captures almost as many hairs. There's really no noticeable difference in the number of hairs it gets at one time compared to 7. The main advantage of this is the charging time of the battery. I feel like it lasts at least twice as long as 7. I can go through a few sessions before needing a recharge. In this case, if you apply too much pressure, the red indicator will light up. I was surprised to see that it lights up multiple times every time I use it. This tells me that even after all these years of use, I still don't get it right 100% of the time. It is comfortable to hold and use for a long time, which is important because epilation requires a lot of time and patience. You have to go over the skin very slowly. You can just pull up your leg like a razor or electric razor. You have to walk slowly, and most of the time you have to go around the site several times to catch everything. So it's a time-consuming task, but it has its advantages. Personally, I like the results on the armpits and bikini line best. These areas become the smoothest and stay hair-free the longest.
