Grainy black coating chips easily
This door knocker only looks like black cast iron from afar. Not heavy at all, it's made of a silver-colored metal coated with some sort of black substance mixed with small particles. When I opened the package, the plating on the corners had already peeled off, revealing the metal underneath. It would be interesting to know the composition of the granular black coating. The product is imported from India.
