Review on Inflator Inflation Campbell Hausfeld MP600000AV by Pranav Osman

New yellow hose and inflator not as good as old red hoses and smaller inflator

Campbell Hausfeld has redesigned this inflator. The previous version had a red hose and a slightly smaller brass cartridge. The new version has a yellow hose and an enlarged chuck. Unfortunately, the tip of this new design doesn't work as well, doesn't adhere well to the valve stem and often leaks. Pros: - I have an old style inflator with red hose and tried this new style with yellow hose. The concept is just fantastic - three tools in one: inflator, deflator and pressure gauge. No more fumbling with separate tools - Perfect remote tire inflation tool when paired with my Campbell Hausfeld 5 gallon portable air tank - I prefer the finger operated lever design over the thumb operated lever design found on some other types. gas generators. The hand tires less and can be held on better. The locking chuck makes it easy to get any job done without worrying about attaching the tool tips to the valve stem. Performs testing, inflation and/or deflation in one operation. The red hose with the smaller compressor tip fits very well on various valve stems. Reliable connection and no leaks. Cons: The new yellow hose and larger inflator tip has a more recessed knob so I have to push it much harder onto the valve stem to depress the valve. Once I push it far enough to depress the valve, the locking jaw goes past the valve stem threads and into the unthreaded portion of the valve stem, or the rubber portion of the valve stem. This resulted in a bad connection and constant leaks from various tires. The new cartridge seems to be too deep. I returned this new type of inflator and bought another of the old versions off eBay with a red hose.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
