I was always skeptical about buying a cooling pad because of conflicting reviews. In the end I decided to buy a relatively cheaper one to try and my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Build quality is okay, for the price I'd say it's pretty good. I also like the accent color and the dual fan design and the ability to keep it tilted. Now we come to the main thing - the cooling. I am using Asus ROG G14 2020 and tried it on Mac Pro too. I think this is more useful for laptops like mine where the intake is under the laptop and the fan provides a nice cool airflow. This item is great for cooling down as my temperature is over 10 degrees cooler after using it. For context I use my laptop in manual mode while playing games and I increase the fans a bit more than turbo but before even at full fan speed the temp hits 85C but now even when I increase my fans not just to about 60-70% my temperature is below 70C. That's all for the CPU, and it's also much lower for the GPU temp, but to be honest I wasn't worried about that as my CPU was reaching dangerously high temperatures. This is perfect for a casual user like me who has no experience with repasting and such, so I don't have to do anything outside of my comfort zone. Also, I sometimes open up my laptop to clean the fans, and that's actually more important than buying a cooling pad.
