Hairpins are too tight to open easily, let alone stay open when I put them in my hair. Each bobby pin has a plastic part, but it comes off every time I pull the pins out of my hair. They are too long for my thinning hair. They held up well in my hair, but I had to wear them a few times to even look decent because they were too tight. I've ordered taller, shorter pens, which I'm happy with.
