light seems to work.

They're a lot lighter than I expected and I think they're more suited to wearing over pants than just pants, although you can probably do that too. (If you play in the snow, you should definitely wear warm pants underneath.) The material reminds me of the material of very light (single layer) wind jackets. We haven't had rain or snow where we are but I've thrown them in the wash and they're waterproof! I took off my pants and ended up splashing water all over. All other clothes soaked up water, but the water just dripped off these pants. The good thing is that they can be worn over pants: this makes it much easier to enter the house after playing in the snow. I always have my son put on dry pants by the door so he doesn't drip melting snow all over the house. In this case, your child can simply take it off without having to change clothes.

Pros
  • Easy to clean and maintain
Cons
  • Not very versatile
