I read the one star reviews and this prompted me to write my own review. I stumbled across this product a few years ago when I moved to the toilet ring capital of the world, Arizona. The water here is so hard, and in the summer the water stays so hot that you really have to either pound the hard water rings with a jack or throw things away and start over. Almost everyone here dies an early death. I moved into a house where I swore the people who lived there never cleaned the plumbing. After using all the hard water products on the market I went to the hardware store to look for a solution and found this small number. And it worked! No, it won't last more than a cleaning or two, but that wasn't intended. It cleaned my toilets perfectly and was like new. I have a casita that is almost unfamiliar so in the summer I have to remember to go there and clean the toilet just because the water gets hard without use. And it also works on many other hard surfaces that are difficult to clean, like grills and the like. Of course you use the new one. I'm just saying. Just make sure the surface is very wet and so is the pumie so it doesn't scratch the porcelain or other surfaces. I found it doesn't work on glass surfaces. It scratches them but works great on porcelain. I was afraid it would hurt him, but it doesn't. It works like thin steel wool.
