My husband is Catholic and I am Jewish and I do my best to mix and match holiday decorations for the holidays. I thought it would be a very nice item for my house. I like both the Star of David and the tree. I confess that, as in the case of burlap, it began to crumble and spread along the edges of the flags. So I went ahead and applied a gentle fray check to the edges, so hopefully this will help hold the ends of the fibers in place. Window. So I used layered paint to outline the letters and symbols. It is absolutely not necessary for everyone to do this, but it is possible. Last but not least, just to let everyone know that the flags are NOT visible in place, so you can move them to position them however you like, which was nice. I ended up tying a knot at the ends once I placed them where I wanted them.
