Poor quality headphones

I've been really waiting for the handset so I can talk while walking and driving. The sound quality is very bad. The wire is too thin. Can the manufacturers do something to improve the shelf life of the products as well? The product can benefit from some changes to make it stronger. The speaker needs an upgrade to a better one. I like the microphone and its flexibility.
