$25 to redeem my Obihai Obi200? SALE!

We need a landline phone in our home because the cellular service indoors is not reliable enough to make calls for work. However, I hated paying for something we rarely used. I bought an Obihai OBi200 for $50 and tested it with Google Voice for a week. What's not to like? I didn't notice any change in voice quality even though I was missing caller ID on outgoing calls. I really had to tell people my new number - nobody picks up unknown calls, no there is so much spam out there! In preparation for the "permanent" device detection, I noticed a WIFI5G dongle. I was a little worried about the voice quality but I already have a phone with Direct6.0 so how bad can that be? IMHO there was no deterioration. Now I can find my multifunctional wireless base anywhere in the house. It used to be tied to my service provider's modem location (my home isn't connected to POTS or handy CAT5). While I'm not an expert, I have experience with network security and of course I set my own website admin password when I originally installed Opitalk. Once I identified the problem, installation was a breeze. User: admin Password: (whatever you set - you can find it on the device configuration page with the Oitalk toolbar - see the posted image). It's good to know that you dial *** 1 to find out the IP address of the device. You can also use this address to log on to the device. There are many settings available. So basically for $75 and a few hours I got rid of my monthly phone bills and got a free land line calling to the US/Canada. I can also ditch the ISP modem and buy my own instead of renting. Of course I could have done it earlier, but the payback is not 4 months, not years. Also, Google Voice is a great way to create a portable desk phone # that you can take and control anywhere. It forwards calls to your mobile phone, VoIP phone or traditional landline. You can use it as an SMS platform and transcribe voicemail to email for free! You need a mobile phone to set it up, but I highly recommend it too!
