Confusing. I thought this would improve my computer's reception over Wi-Fi. Incorrect

This turned my computer into an insecure hotspot so anyone walking by could access all my files. This is for Wi-Fi output, not Wi-Fi input. Don't waste money. Didn't do anything to improve PC wifi.
