My son is a 14 in other jeans but wears a 12 in Calvin. These fit well; he is tall and thin. However, I'm sending them back because they have a zig zag stitch that keeps the torn areas covered with a cloth backing (like a patch but not fully attached). My son didn't like it. I thought it was to protect them from being sold and maybe it should have been removed? Pretty sure I could do it successfully but he didn't believe me and will try on Hudson's ripped jeans because he liked them but were 12 too small. I'm still scratching my head.
