The lighting is bright enough, so it's better to place it above or below eye level. They also stay on a bit longer than some of the plug-in motion lights I have. I've placed them under the kitchen cabinets, on the way to (and in) the bathroom, and also by the back door. In the early, dark hours, I can get up, go to the bathroom, and let the dogs out without turning on electrical outlets. This is especially good for an accidental power outage. I started with 2 sets. I bought another set, which also quickly found a place. I just ordered another set with more ideas. Each contains 3 AAA batteries. Have enough on hand when they arrive.
