Review on 🐠 Tetra Whisper EX: The Ultimate Silent Multi-Stage Power Filter for Aquariums by Angela Brooks

Amazing for the price!

I've only been using it for a day but I love it. I received a 10 gallon filter to replace my Tetra Whisper 2-10i filter that was soaked in seaweed and beyond repair (I'm learning to make plants. Oops). This was for 10 gallons with chicken and two armored catfish. It hums quietly and evenly and sits firmly on the back. Suction is good and flow is amazing, but too strong for most bettas. As some others have said, make sure the suction cage tubing is tight; If the tube detaches, your fish will fall into the open tube leading to the filter motor. Unfortunately this is a major design flaw, but it was my second choice (Fluval C2, why should they always sell out?!). You can always put a piece of jewelry under the suction cup to clamp it for safety's sake; I could do it myself but it looks ok. My Setup Methods: I cut a plastic mesh out of an onion bag and use twine to baste the stitches and attach it to the suction cup. That way, something keeps my fish's fins from being sucked in and damaged. As for the flow, I cut out the plastic dish washer to be held in place by the bio washer with the rest hanging down to slow the flow. Its flow is remarkably perfect now. Photo attached if anyone wants inspiration from me. :-) These settings took about 10 minutes. Good luck to all!
