The back was hollow when I received the item in the box, all parts were zipped inside. When I removed the parts, there was no gasket left. I had to use a port cargo blanket folded and stuffed in the back which now makes it perfect. :) But still, why not buy a desk chair and expect the backrest to be thick and hollow like it's not a piñata. Only buy if you have a spare blanket that you don't need and want to use as chair padding. But overall I filled the port cargo blanket with a really nice chair lol. Note that port freight blankets cost around $5, FYI (decent fill gives a lot of fill when folded).
