Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good tool for the price

About my hair: I have a modified bob to about chin length that is tilted forward and styled/textured at the back . My hair is straight, fine textured and medium thick. Due to color manipulation and other abuses, I have to blow dry and style my hair or I look like one of those who were before the ad, which you think can't be true. Most of the time I use a flat iron to finish my hair and give it a smooth, shiny look. For my hair type Revlon RVST2082 works very well. This straightening iron looks and feels good and is comfortable to hold. The on/off switch and temperature control are located on top of the iron and are designed so that you cannot accidentally change the temperature setting or turn the device unnecessarily. It has five preset temperatures: 230, 280, 330, 380 and 430. There is a digital display on the top of the iron which is very clear and easy to read. It shows whether the device is on or off, which temperature level you have selected and when the device has reached its temperature. I didn't measure the time, but it seems that the chosen temperature is reached in less than the 30 seconds indicated by the manufacturer. Manufacturer. the specification states that the slabs are tourmaline, ceramic; They glide through my hair very smoothly and I had no problems with catching or snagging. I have very short hair at the base of my neck and I can feel the heat of the iron when I use it to straighten/straighten those strands but I haven't had any issues with burns. If you hold the iron by its base near the cord, you may find that the plates are not properly compressed (they may slip a little). This is easily eliminated by holding the iron closer to the plates. There are three raised lines on the outside of the top and bottom of the iron; You can see them clearly just above the digital window. Holding the iron in this spot will clamp it perfectly every time and you won't run the risk of accidentally touching the plates. This allows you to lock the iron closed (clamped) for storage or travel, which is nice. A few things to note: the plug is a regular, small wall plug, not the big square safety plug plus the test and reset buttons you often see on hair tools. Also, this unit is not dual voltage, so if you're planning a trip to Europe, you'll need a different iron or the necessary adapters/converters. This Revlon iron replaces a very expensive so-called professional iron bought at the salon. , which had a disappointing lifespan and didn't work that well. Like some of the other reviewers, I really wonder if some of the high-end devices are really worth their price. Overall I think this is a very good iron at a very reasonable price. If you have fine to medium hair and/or fine to medium hair you will find that this straightener is for you and I recommend trying it out. I followed the manufacturer. recommended temperature for my hair type (330 degrees) and I get great results. My hair looks straight and shiny and is already less dry/frizzy as I now use a much lower temperature than my 'professional' straightener.

Pros
  • 1 inch ceramic plates for perfectly straight hair every time
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
