I originally had a different brand seam ripper, red handle, plastic and very flimsy, but I lost it somewhere. I had to buy a new one because I wanted to hem my baby's pants for the wedding. The advice works like most advice. cuts the thread well. Didn't notice anything surprising on the tip compared to the old one I had. What I really like is the handle and the rubber grip. It really helps make it more comfortable to hold so you feel like you have more control. Another plus is that it comes with a cap to protect the tip and the good thing is that the cap snaps onto the end during use so you don't have to lose it and also makes the grip longer when you want this option. . In general, the material looks very hard-wearing and of high quality. I recently used it to unzip the back pockets of my new pants and it worked great.
