The AA version is GREAT; Version C LESS PRACTICAL

We bought this lamp 4-5 years ago (2014) when it still used AA batteries and we really liked it. This is particularly convenient during power outages. However, today (2019) we wanted to buy a second one and found that the flashlight now uses C batteries instead of AA batteries. If you already have a type C battery charger, buy this lamp. If you're like us and have a charger that only accepts AAA/AA batteries, I would recommend trying to find an older version of this light that still uses AA batteries, or using a different model. An exception to my search recommendation The AA version is fine if you plan on using it for a long period of time. In this case, you may prefer the C version, since C batteries have about three times the capacity of AA batteries. So it should last longer than the AA version. We typically only use ours for a few minutes a day and have to change our AA batteries about twice a year. Interestingly, the description says that the current model can also be connected to the network. Maybe someone will find it useful. But there are so many better lamp options out there, as long as you have access to an outlet. We like to use them outside on the patio and other places where using wired devices is impractical. It's also a great lamp during a power outage as it gives off a better light than candles and is much safer.
