This belt works well and looks good. After some adjustments, it fits, holds up well enough, and adjusts quickly so it doesn't threaten to cut me in half. Belt and buckle are not permanently connected. The strap is inserted into a slot and held in place by a series of teeth that rotate to cut into it. If too much pressure is applied to the belt, this connection will break. It doesn't do much harm to the three straps and is easy to reassemble, but it can be annoying if someone bends over and rips their strap, suddenly causing the pants to come loose.
