Most water boots I've bought in the past have not lasted more than one long kayak trip let alone a full year. So far this pair has proven to stand up to long weekends of paddling. The padding on the bottom of the shoe stuck to the sole and would not come out from under my wet foot. The water flowed easily and helped dry the foot. The only thing that confused me before buying it was the size. I have a width of 10.5 and they only had 10 or 11. I chose 10 so the shoe stays on foot when getting in and out. It turned out to be on the tip of the toe but didn't hurt even after a long day of paddling. The only change I would make would be to lengthen the rear rubber tread by 3/4 inch to give a bit of healing.
