Review on Scotch Laminator Letter Size Laminating TL902VP by Knate Scarpelli

I was very happy when I received this laminator. I've toyed with the idea of having one at home because I'm a teacher and my life revolves around laminating a significant amount of paper each week. I chose this one as it is a Scottish brand and has been around for years. I had no doubts that with this product I would be a happy backpacker back home. Well, that wasn't the result. As soon as I plugged in the laminator and turned it on, there was a strong "burnt" smell in my living room. All thermal laminators smell like this, but not like that. I thought it might catch fire at any moment. Well, I decided to "ignore" the smell and started laminating my first paper. This laminator is loaded from above. When I put the package in it got stuck completely and I had to pull it out. When I took the bag out, it melted and crumpled all over. I tried 3 times. I was very careful putting the package in and it got stuck and ruined my papers. I think the problem lies in the bottom left roller that unrolls the laminated pouch. I also think this is a bad "batch" of this product as in the reviews there are people with perfectly laminated material. That's why I bought it. It's hit or miss. I would not recommend that.
