I bought these because of the volume limit as they were for my 5 year old daughter to use at school and with her tablet. Turns out they don't actually "limit the volume" but more like "turn down the volume". You should use a resistor or something to turn the overall volume down, not limit it to a safe level. I just checked them out after my daughter complained on a trip that they weren't working. When I turn up the volume on her tablet or on my computer, I can barely hear any sound through her. They are not really usable and end up in the trash.
