When I replaced my Pixel 2XL's battery with the iFixit kit, the supplied adhesive slipped off the plastic and stuck to the box it came in rendering the adhesive unusable. It was the most cost effective alternative I could find in a short period of time. Although it's sort of "precut" it's still glued together very strongly and since it was more or less cut but not separated all the glue on the side is a big sheet of glue that you separate from the small piece of frame need to separate. which you really need for screen glue. It's not necessarily a bad thing, a bit wasteful in my opinion, but overall I can see what they had to work with when stamping these kits. Once you get a bit more aggressive with the inside you remove to separate from the outside edge, you may end up breaking the plastic and getting what you need for a screen repair. I wish I had a video to show this process, but at the time my camera was less on my desk screen. :/ However, I was able to pull part of the frame out and insert it into the phone with a few minor adjustments to ensure it installed correctly. After the screen was placed in the frame and pressed down, I left it overnight with a heavy book to hopefully fully secure the screen to the body and maintain the water resistance the phone offered when it was new. I can say that everything is going well so far. The screen seems to fit just as snugly as a standard screen, no sign of lifting or loosening, and overall my phone feels as "new" as it once did with a new battery and unfortunately a new screen. If you're changing your P2XL's battery like me, this is a great adhesive replacement to put the screen back on your phone. Just be patient.
