I couldn't find my size (9) of the NEW Balance 840v3 women's running shoes. I contacted New Balance to complain that they are phasing out shoes and not selling standard sizes well enough. I have been told that the NEW 840v4 is essentially the same as the 840v3 except for the colours. New Balance told me straight out that they didn't change the arch or add pronation shoe supports to version 4. So I bought a new pair. Shoes barely fit (same size as I always have). The heel shape was completely different than the 840v3 and the arch was different too - my heel wobbled on the 840v4. The new and very expensive 840v4 shoes caused ankle pain and cramps in the tarsal bones in the center of the arch of the foot.
