Great sound, but there are flaws that Yamaha won't fix.

I really like the sound quality and people tell me that I sound good on calls. And it's great that the mute button syncs with Zoom. But this speakerphone has two annoying bugs that are hard to live with, and neither of those were a problem with my previous USB speakerphone. First, the microphone occasionally (about once a day with heavy use) turns itself off in the middle. talk. To fix this I have to disconnect and reconnect the USB and then the mic comes back. I have a Mac connected via USB, so I don't know if this applies to a Mac. But I haven't had this problem with other USB speakers I've used with this computer (Jabra, etc.). Second, I only use the speaker for calls and the Mac's built-in speakers for other sounds. The speaker of the YVC-200 is optimized for speech transmission, so it sounds tinny with normal sound. I've had similar products from other brands in the past and it's great to be able to separately control computer audio with the volume buttons on the keyboard and call audio with the volume buttons on the USB speakerphone. Unfortunately, when you use the volume buttons on the YVC-200, in addition to adjusting its own volume, it sends volume up/down keystrokes to the computer, causing it to adjust the Mac's speakers as well. So if I have my Mac speakers muted and then need to turn up the volume on the YVC-200, the Mac speakers will also be muted and the volume turned up. I contacted Yamaha support and had a frustrating conversation where one person told me this was not a bug and I was wrong because I didn't want it to work that way.
