Requires C-batteries, like THE ONLY THING in the world that uses them anymore, so stock up on those. The 2 positions are odd, the more reclined position almost puts baby’s feet above her head. So the "inclined" position is basically your option which is almost level front to back. The toy bar is too far back, baby couldn’t see it. So we pretty much left it off.The motor is super weak, so when you first start it, give it a little nudge to get it going. (I mean what can you expect from a few C-batteries?)The buckles are odd, hard to describe, but we didn’t use the shoulder straps because they were just a bad design. Which this swing is for very young babies, who are not at all active, so I guess that’s not a huge deal. In our case, we could only use it until our baby was about 3-1/2 months old when she started trying to sit up.In the end I wish I would have gotten a Fischer Price or something. Or even a nicer used one from somewhere. I was on a budget, but this was almost a waste.
