They have mixed reviews and I have mixed feelings

This pot arrived today and I was excited until I looked at it. It's definitely not the one used in the picture as I have less than a quarter of an inch between the rim of the crucible and the boiling pot when it's inside. Mind you, this is a very small part that I had to maneuver to get it. ALL other pages are connected. It's terrible? Not quite but compared to their photos it's misleading as you get the feeling the pot is bigger! In addition, the jug has NO handles! After reading the reviews (yes, I couldn't see A. the pictures. Not sure why. But in my defence, it was around 3am. And B, I didn't read all the reviews! Again, did I apologize "It was 3am and there were about 100 product pages on my shopping list! Trust me, I understand why reviews are an important, if often confusing, part of a purchasing decision! These pots seem pretty small and THIN. In fact, I have I asked if they really were stealing stainless steel. My stainless steel is clearly marked, it has a stamp saying it says it. My pots are also much thicker/heavier. There is no marking. Also, there were no papers with the pots. The water pot came with holes in 2 places on (just arrived, not used yet) One hole looks dark in the picture (I thought it had a bug in it) but not with bare A eye. This pot is only 5" in diameter and 4" tall. It has a sticker that says 16cm (there are some Chinese symbols as well). 16cm is about 5 1/2 inches so I'm assuming they are refer to the height of the pan including the crease of the lips and will vary slightly! Listed capacity is 1000ml. Melting pot is 5" in diameter at the top and tapers to approximately 2 3/4" at the bottom. Handles have silicone grommets It has a capacity of 600ml The markings on the larger pot got me curious and looked for information Quick Answer: Although there are only 4 "families" of alloy configurations, there are a large number of organizations that set standards for these alloys and more importantly each of these organizations uses different standards AND different markings for their specific standards yes there are several I have each found Unified Alloys gr8 information database. The designation "SUS" is an older classification used by the Society of Automotive Engineers for 304 stainless steel. However, the stamp should be "SUS 304". So maybe it's 304 stainless steel or maybe just a borrowed part from the brand. Japan, China and many other countries have their own classification organizations. Unfortunately they have prefixes that are not listed on these pots and there was no paperwork with the pots. So there is no way of knowing for sure what these pots are. I can return this set. I look at alternatives, b4 I decide. As I only want one for melting chocolate that might be fine, although I'm still concerned about the water pot's size and its lack of handles. All in all I would NOT use or recommend these pots for products in my bath and body line as I feel they will not stand up to prolonged use. However, they can be suitable for occasional use. Reviews are mixed, so maybe it's just about type and frequency of use and/or product inconsistencies.
