I purchased this product based on my significant hearing loss related to age and medical issues. I had a great deal of difficulty hearing dialogue on both broadcast and DVD's. I was missing more and more from my viewing experience. Based on my web research and product reviews, I ordered the Zvox SB570. It arrived promptly and was well-packaged. Easy to set up, especially since my flat-screen TV had optical audio output. The product exceeded my expectations, and this has changed my viewing life. Even without AccuVoice selected, dialogue is crisp and understandable on the "Surround 1" setting. AccuVoice makes it even better. Both settings still project rich, full sound, including deep bass, that does not overshadow the dialogue. This product is clearly better than the A/V receiver home-theater/surround setup I had in place. The quality, ease of setup and performance make this a great value for the price.Update. I have had my ZVOX Soundbase 570 for 8 months now. The sound is outstanding, and it addresses my hearing loss with respect to voice clarity, particularly in DVD's. My only disappointment is that the unit cuts out--completely--with no reason or warning. No, I didn't drop or accidentally touch the remote. This was a problem the first couple of months; then it didn't happen so much. Now, after 7 months, it again cuts out, sometimes several times in a short period of time. After the problem seemed to go away earlier, I threw out the shipping box. Apparently I tempted fate. The problem is intermittent, and I am living with it, as a warranty return is now complicated without a shipping box. Maybe a rogue signal coming from some other device or somewhere else? I still recommend this product despite this issue, which I have previously seen others report in their reviews. Not seeing those reviews anymore . . . . . ? No helpful recommendations out there in the blog-verse, either. The sound quality still exceeds the best surround sound systems.Update: I have had this sound base for 22 months now. I moved 10 months ago to a new apartment and since I have moved, there have been no more problems with the unit cutting out. So, at my previous residence, the problem may well have been older house wiring or signal interference. I continue to be very happy with it, and the problems I had been having were not the unit itself. So, I recommend this product after almost 2 years of ownership.
