I didn't even know I needed it!

Love love love it. I bought my iPad to keep it on my lap when using it in portrait mode as I used an iPad case to support landscape use. I use it for both all the time because the base is big enough for my hands to be free and much more stable. There is a hole at the bottom so you can charge it while using it.
