Good rod, screws were too long

The rod is definitely sturdy enough to hold up huge blackout curtains, which is good. But the screws that came with it were too long to go into my wall all the way, and they're so much longer than the drywall anchors that it isn't really useful anyway. I had to use some of my own shorter screws that I had on hand that were the same diameter. The unfortunate thing is I tried for so long to get the longer screws to work that my wall looked like swiss cheese before I decided to use shorter screws, then there were no more issues.
