For the price ($40 USD) I had expected a better-quality foam. I have pillows that are fluffier. The product package is pretty tiny, because the foam is rolled up and vacuum-packed. You have to remove the foam from its plastic bag and allow it to expand. Unlike a memory-foam product which takes a day to fully expand, this foam expands fairly quickly (an hour or so). Pressing your hand on the foam takes little force to compress it to the floor. Thickness is maybe 4-5 inches from the flat surface to a peak of one of the "egg carton" hills. Foam fits easily into the cloth cover, which has a zipper that extends over two of the 4 sides.EDIT (2022-12-14): The last couple nights I've put the dog's blanket on top of this bed and she's slept on it.My dog laid on the bed the first night I put the cover on, but since then she chooses the old blanket next to the bed, which is probably the best testimonial to how supportive the bed is.
