I've only worn them in the garden but I like them. I'm a size 7 and ordered a 7. I would say they fit true to size. The straps don't cut into my ankles or toes. No chafing (yet). My only complaint is that there are tiny little nubbies (I guess that's what I would call them). It feels like I have dirty feet when I put them on. I assume they should be there since they are the same on both shoes. **Update: I love these shoes! I've worn them to cruise the Illinois River (Tahlequah) and if you've ever cruised down it you know it's a shoe killer. The stones didn't hurt. The straps are a bit green but the sole looks brand new. I figured that all day in and out of the water would cause the straps to stretch and chafe. nope I will definitely order more. *before and after photo*
