Eats batteries, otherwise works as advertised.

I bought this tool in August to use in another house. I arrived at my other house at the end of October. I have been trying to use this device to trace Cat6 cables in my new home for the past 48 hours. In that short time I changed three 9VDC batteries in the transmitter, the latter only took 10 minutes to "scan" before the battery died. Of course I can't return it because it's outside the return window, although I haven't used it until 2 days ago. Worked as stated. I was happy with that. Until I see him eating batteries. By the way, the batteries are so hot that at first I was afraid to even touch them.

Pros

Multifunctional and easy to use. Not only can it trace Ethernet LAN cables, but also electrical wires and speaker wires when connected to the alligator clip. In this situation, the cables must be disconnected, otherwise the devices will be damaged. There are only 2 buttons on the transmitter: FUNCTION SELECTION and FUNCTION SWITCH and 1 INCHING button on the receiver. Clues such as "SCAN" and "TEST" are clear and easily recognizable.
