My first attempt at removing almost 12 year old compounds in the toilet drain confirms that toilet pumice works, but gentle rubbing is a process that takes several days. Not just 10-15 minutes effort for me. The pumice stick is easy to grind into rounded shapes to conform to curved edges, and is long enough to try and get further down the shoot. I bought six sticks of pumice and within 3 days - about 15 minutes each time - I didn't even use half a stick. I used to use a plastic knife to scrape the grout. A pumice stone is more effective. The sticks are lighter than I expected. They arrived individually wrapped in polyethylene and intact.
