EDIT: Almost a year now and ordering a new one for a new phone case. It has held up amazingly well and is still holding up with no sign of failure. Don't try to stick the tape on rubber or silicone and you'll be fine. I ordered a rubber coated housing, made sure it was sanded and clean, then attached the PTO adapter. Works great, strong adhesive doesn't go anywhere, fits snugly in front Garmin Out mount. I've missed a few rides (only road so far) and it's holding up. I connected my phone to a Wahoo speed and cadence sensor, a front phone mount on top and a Garmin Virb on the bottom. The perfect setup for me. A well-made phone case and a little common sense when using this adapter and you'll be fine. Remember this is a strong glue but not as many glues as rubber backing or silicone.
