They're good, but you have to get used to them. I would say they work better as tongs than spatulas, or I would use them as tongs rather than spatulas. I couldn't feel them when trying to make the eggs if I made them with a spatula, but for picking up cookies from a different sized baking sheet, this worked really well! I'd say it's more effective on "hard" foods (cookies, meat, etc.) than "soft" foods (eggs, pancakes, etc.). Haven't served it as a salad yet, but I think it would be nice at a family gathering for stuff like that. One definite downside I had was that they take up a bit more cabinet/drawer space than regular tongs when folded due to the silicone piece. I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen and I wouldn't throw away all my tongs/spatulas with it as a permanent replacement. But maybe I can get rid of some of my old additions and make room for these little ones.
