Review on πŸ”Œ Renewed Ultimate Ears POWER UP Charging Dock for Portable Speakers - White - Improved SEO by Mark Green

As advertised - with an annoying design flaw

Short foreword - repair quality is very good. The unit arrived very clean and I couldn't tell it wasn't new. It's worth a few bucks I saved by not buying a new one. Let's get to the product itself. I bought this for my BOOM 3 speaker so I could hook up a speaker and use it as a Google Home speaker and so far this system has worked great! But unfortunately I encountered a problem during the installation when I was connected. I placed my dock on a higher shelf where I already had a long micro USB connector to power the dock and noticed how small the power connector is and that it was specifically designed for the cable that came with the speaker (the cable is not included with the refurbished docking station). Not being able to use any of my own micro USB cables is a design decision that doesn't make much sense to me and seems like a cheap way to trick consumers into choosing a different UE cable. Don't think you can use one of your own cables (unless they're the same size and shape as the UE, which I didn't have in my collection of 30+ micro USB cables). It may actually only be one star, but using such a common charging port without the support of other cables really seems unnecessary. Other than that one annoyance, I have no complaints. There's a tiny bright white LED on the front to show if it's charging or charging, and it's very easy to dock and undock. Big fan of clean design.
