Works with old records!

I have a collection of old shellac records that my grandfather owns and I'm dying to listen to him to identify him from his record collection. These records have been sitting in an attic down south for 25 years, so they're not in the best condition, and I've never used a turntable. This player was very easy to learn and plays these recordings brilliantly. ! All I've tried so far has been a 78rpm record so can't speak at other speeds/how it sounds on newer records but so far I've been very impressed with it. Its portability is also very good, we have already taken it to our parents so they can listen to the collection too! The downsides so far are that hitchhiking isn't the best. There is some distance going into the recording, so if you have more recordings you will need to disable auto-stop. The downside to this is that (as I've found) there's no way to prevent the player from turning elsewhere. So when you reach the end of the recording, you have to autostop again to change the recording or fight back. Another downside is that the type of material used on the outside looks very nice but looks like a cheap vinyl material that tears easily, which seems like an odd choice for a machine advertised as portable.

Pros
  • Turntable
Cons
  • Small parts
