Quite low, they show the lower part of the cheeks to make them sexy, but still acceptable in mixed company or as a legal lifeguard uniform (which is why I bought them), ESPECIALLY when paired with a red sports bra or similar style bikini top worn (e.g. speedometer). Girls with larger, more muscular legs and "cheeks" might want to consider the next size up if they don't want to overemphasize the perky effect, if you get my meaning.
