My favorite snack is definitely ice cream. Buying canned ice cream in a store is as mundane to me as buying milk and bread – a staple for me. Given my love for this sweet treat, it makes sense that we'd try it at home, and that desire is what convinced me to try this quencch ice cream maker. This ice cream maker has few removable parts. To prepare, you must first place the bowl in the freezer to ensure it is done. Then you mix the ingredients, set the timer and start mixing. After you're done, pop them in the freezer a little longer and serve. This ice machine makes some noise, but all ice machines make noise and the decibel levels here aren't too bad. The device is also small, so it takes up little space on the counter and makes just under two liters of ice cream. The problem is that the ice doesn't freeze properly. We tried this many times and couldn't get it to work. At first I thought maybe the bowl wasn't left in the freezer long enough before mixing, so we tried leaving it overnight again. It still won't work. We used the recipes that came with the machine; still no luck. The mix was still edible, but it felt more like a thick smoothie than the sweet creamy ice cream I was hoping for. I may have received a defective device, I'm not sure. Somehow it looks to me like it's the store bought ice cream again. I will keep looking for an ice machine maybe a little bigger than this and will try again in the future.
