I bought these speakers to replace a pair of Pioneer BS21 speakers. I wasn't dissatisfied with these speakers, but thought it was time to buy something better and more affordable. I've done my research and it seems to fit the bill and they definitely did. Let me just say I'm in my 60's and my taste in music leans towards 70's and 80's rock with a bit of jazz. I'm not looking for a big bass, monster. Also due to the size of my room I want something suitable. These speakers have a very wide range for my hearing and taste. The bass on "Miles Davis Kind of Blue" sounds like the guy is in the room with me and I hear things I've never heard on "Chicago Transit Authority" before. Both are on vinyl. The dust cover is held in place by magnets. So if you want to show off the brass horn, it's very easy to do. I fixed mine to the wall and fished out the wires behind the drywall for a cleaner look (I think). Bottom line is what you get when you're looking for an upgrade like me at an affordable price.
