I make and sell earrings and I have to say these are the best earrings I have ever bought! My clients never complain of allergic reactions and I never have any pain/irritation when wearing a pair I made for myself. You get 200 pairs total (pins, metal backs/clasps, and silicone backs) and they actually appear to be made of stainless steel. Out of curiosity, I dropped one in a cup of water to see how it would react within a week, and after I pulled it out it was just as shiny and flawless as before this experiment. Although the metal is darker and not as bright as sterling silver, it has a beautiful cool gray color that will never tarnish. The 8mm base is wide enough to securely attach to the finished product/cabochon/etc. to glue/attach, but smaller sizes (like 5mm) may not be as secure unless you attach them with resin or in my experience glue them in resin/clay/etc. The wire is quite long but personally I don't mind and I think it can be cut. Overall I think this is a great option for the professional crafter or hobbyist.
