Pros: Excellent wood construction matches the item photos. Good craftmanship in joinery and inlays.Cons: Printed instructions are brief and generic for checkers, chess, and backgammon. This set is for backgammon only.My wife and I wanted a game that two could play. I haven't played chess in years and don't care for checkers. She suggested Backgammon. She has played Backgammon before, but I never have. I ordered the 15" light brown version as a good learning size and something easy to travel with.When I opened the Walmart shipping box, the Woodronic box foreshadowed something special. Inside the box, a drawstring bag held the set. I removed the box from the bag and as a former woodworking hobbiest was immediately impressed with the wooden case. It looked exactly like the picture in the product description page, but now that I could see it up close, the good joinery and tight corners, and good fitting mortised hinges were obvious. It took me a second to locate the indent to open the box, and then it took some effort to open the box because it is held closed by magnets. I tried just holding the lid corners to see if the box would open unbidden, but the magnets held the bottom tightly even when unsupported.A second, smaller bag inside the set contained 17 white and 17 black wooden checkers (2.75 cm in diameter), apparently the standard 15 + 2 extra in each color. I don't know the size of checkers in larger sets. There were also two nicely finished wooden containers to hold dice, two sets of dice, and a doubling box. Since I have never played before I don't know how these pieces are used. The enclosed instructions are terse and include information for chess and checkers as well as Backgammon. This set is for Backgammon only. However, I was so impressed with the construction and finish of the set that I didn't take off points for poor instructions. Backgammon is a well-known game, and I am sure I can find adequate instructions online.The Backgammon board is beautifully inlaid and looks exactly like the pictures on the product description page. The finished surfaces throughout are smooth to the touch. Even if I never become an expert at Backgammon, I appreciate the workmanship in this wooden backgammon set. I am very happy with this product.
