I bought the IdeaPad 100s because it sold for less than two hundred dollars on Revain and because it had an HDMI port ( so I can play IdeaPad movies on my big screen HDTV). The HDMI functionality works well, as I had hoped, but actually I thought the IdeaPad was some kind of cheap PC. Two months after buying the IdeaPad, I don't think it's a cheap PC; I am very happy with it. First, it's very light, so now I take it to college classes on campus. Second, the built-in WiFi works very well. Third, the battery lasts six to seven hours without recharging. Fourth, I had no problem making the IdeaPad visible to other devices via my home router (both wired and wireless). And with the homegroup feature of Windows 10, I can share files and configuration settings between my desktop, IdeaPad, and other devices. There were several issues, both of which I was able to resolve fairly quickly. When I first turned on the IdeaPad, the display was constantly pulsing between medium and maximum brightness. This issue was resolved by setting the monitor to maximum brightness in Windows settings. The IdeaPad also had a problem with time tracking. The system time was significantly behind the actual time, although Windows automatically updated the time and time zone. This issue was addressed by applying and flashing a BIOS update from Lenovo (free download). I was particularly pleased with the low weight, the very long battery life and the easy use of the Wi-Fi functions.
