Overall I'm happy with the LeZyne Macro Easy GPS bike computer, but I have to say I'm not an advanced user. I only use the basic GPS functions and no phone connection or various sensors. Basic GPS functions work well now, but they didn't start out that way. When I unpacked it, charged the battery and tried it out, the only GPS function that worked properly was the speedometer. The removal feature didn't work at all until I enabled recording, and then less than a minute later the device locked - it wouldn't turn off or respond to any buttons other than a hard reset. And the quick start guide that came with it didn't say how to do a hard reset - I had to go to the LeZyne FAQ on their website to find out (press and hold ENTER and MENU buttons at the same time if anyone needs to know. ) However, after following the recommendation to update the firmware in the quick start guide, all GPS functions are now working. The speed reading sometimes drifts a bit when driving under trees, even under trees, but I don't see that as a big problem as many GPS devices have this problem. This is the first GPS bike computer I've used so it took me quite a while to figure out how to use it. "Why didn't you just read the instructions?" you ask. "Because it doesn't exist," I reply. They included a quick start guide with a GPS unit, which is totally unsuitable for a novice GPS user on a bike (and I'm a retired software engineer). In the QS manual there was a link to an "instruction manual". on their website, which at the time of writing this turns out to be just a link to a quick start PDF. updated the firmware.) That was a week ago and I still haven't received a reply. I have to say after updating the firmware and spending some time on it, it's not that hard; just pretty intimidating for a new user, especially when some features don't work and they don't know it's because the device came broken! Since the unit works fine after a firmware update (for basic GPS functionality - can't comment on connectivity functionality) I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for documentation/support issues. It's certainly a lot better than some competing devices. However, I don't think a company should ever release a product with most of its broken features until you do a firmware update - it should only be done to improve an already working device or fix minor bugs.
