My son just turned 4 and is smaller (40.5 inches and 38 pounds) so this rug seems like the right size for him. The top cover does not reach the bottom of the mat (legs stick out). This year he will be using it to sleep in kindergarten so I'm curious to see how well it works. It has a handle and a blue pocket on the side, I don't know what it's for. There's no room for a name, so maybe you put it in there somehow? We used fabric stickers with his name printed on them and they held up well in the wash. The fabric seemed a bit scratchy at first but after a wash it got a lot better. I removed the pillow when washing and it stood up fine again. I think the rug will soften with use and more washes. I'll post how it goes in a few months.
