Review on Kingston A400 120GB SATA SSD SA400S37/120G by Stanisaw Nader ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didnt expect the quality to be so high.

Overall rating: quite good. Works much faster than a hard drive. The volume is small, but when using the Ubuntu OS, there will be enough space for the eyes (Windows there, of course, will "gobble up" almost all the space). Like I said, it doesn't get hot. Supports SMART. I can’t say anything about the service life - I have only had it for almost a month in use. In general (so far), he satisfies me 100%. I didn’t conduct any benchmarks or other synthetic tests (don’t be offended, I think this is a stupid activity for stupid children), I describe my experience based only on real feelings.

Pros
  • Of the advantages: The cheapest of the famous brands today. Silent, light, small - in other words, absolutely not creating any aesthetic discomfort solid state drive. It feels fast when writing and reading, it does not heat up. And I don't care what kind of controller it is. As an ordinary sane user, I do not want to understand such trifles as the type of memory used there. I don't need all of this. Works? Faster than a hard drive? No noise? Consumes energy and heats up less than a hard drive? What else does?
Cons
  • To be honest, I can’t say exactly what disadvantages a solid-state drive can have these days for such a low price - two or more thousand. Perhaps only the most urgent ones, which are already clear to everyone: only 120 gigabytes, not very much by our standards, and solid-state gigabytes are still much more expensive than "hard" gigabytes anyway.
